Open Markets is a complementary program to the Esoko Market Information Platform.
It has been establsihed to focus efforts and resources on building the capacity of farmers, traders and
their associations to access low cost ICTs to improve their livelihoods.

Programs include:

• subsidized ownership of mobile phones for disadvantaged communities
• field training for farmer based organizations in using mobile technologies
• capacity building and training for associations and trade groups
• introductory courses to ministries and gov agencies on using mobile
• incubation of Agric extension officers to improve their knowledge sharing
• training for NGOs in how to use mobiles to monitor field activities and programs
